Shachihata’s journey began in 1925 with a revolutionary concept: the continuous ink stamp pad. While initially met with skepticism, the product's effectiveness gained traction through strategic distribution.

In 1941, the company was reorganized as Shachihata Kogyo Co., Ltd., setting the stage for future growth.

A pivotal moment arrived in 1965 with the creation of the Xstamper®. Through meticulous research and development, the incorporation of salt into rubber led to the birth of the world's first pre-inked stamp. This groundbreaking product has maintained its industry leadership for over half a century.

Beyond stamps, Shachihata expanded its offerings in 1964 with just three permanent markers. Today, the Artline product line boasts a diverse range of writing and marking instruments, catering to various needs from arts and crafts to professional use. With over 100 million Artline pens and markers sold annually worldwide, the brand has solidified its position as a global leader.
