About Daler-Rowney

For nearly 240 years, Daler-Rowney has been synonymous with excellence in art materials. Our mission is to make creativity accessible to everyone by offering innovative, inclusive, and high-quality artistic products. Established in 1783, we are committed to inspiring creativity across generations.

Our History

In 1983, the Daler Board Company merged with the George Rowney Company, forming Daler-Rowney Limited. Both companies have been pioneers in developing fine artists' materials in the UK, and together, they have built a legacy of consistent quality recognized worldwide.

Our Mission

Artists are at the heart of everything we do. We develop, produce, and deliver products that not only meet but exceed the expectations of the artistic community. Our mission is to inspire creativity by producing sustainable, high-quality art materials that are accessible to all. Since 1783, all our colors have been proudly made in England.

Our Values

Individuality: We encourage you to express yourself and raise your artistic voice through our #paintloud project.

Diversity: We believe art is for everyone. We celebrate the unique ideas and perspectives each individual brings.

Innovation: We support your creative journey by continuously challenging the status quo and introducing innovative products.

Excellence: We strive to exceed your expectations, constantly learning and improving our offerings.

Our Factories

Colour Factory & Headquarters: Located in Bracknell, Berkshire, our main office and color manufacturing factory have been the hub of our operations since 1967. With a capacity to produce up to 50 million units annually, our facility handles everything from small batches to large-scale production. We also produce sketchbooks and mount boards here.

Additional Factories: Our Dudley factory specializes in paper products, while our Middlewich facility focuses on primary school education products.

Brush & Surface Factory: Acquired in 1994, our factory in La Romana, Dominican Republic, produces artist brushes, canvases, sketchbooks, and art kits. This facility has earned special recognition from the Dominican government and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019.
